Riverbend Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Riverbend first opened for play in 1972. The course was designed by Ernie Schrock.
The Golf Course flows with nature - in, around, and over the meanders of the St. Joseph River. You'll be challenged and you'll be rewarded by the combination of nature's beauty interwoven with a first-rate golf course. Built amid the oxbows of the St. Joseph River, which itself winds around the front nine, the course offers something for golfers of all skill levels.
The front nine is short and tight, including rare back-to-back par 3's, while the back nine is more open and friendly to the long ball hitter.
Water hazards come into play on ten holes and over thirty well-positioned sand bunkers have been incorporated into the course design to challenge the low to mid handicappers. But many options, lay-ups, and ball drop areas are open to the high handicapper
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6702 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5633 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 560 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 6, a par-3 that plays to 160 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 15, a 470 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Riverbend Golf Course is # 5, a 165 yard par-3.

Have been looking forward to playing this Ernie Schrock since I played his other course down here "Autumn Ridge GC" last year. Ernie must have a real love affair with water because both tracks have water on more than half its holes. I only had time for nine (9) holes so I paid my $18 for walking as it was $34 18/cart and leagues started at 3:30pm. The Front 9 (Blues 3,372yds / Par 36) has the first six (6) holes with water coming into play, challenging all shots. The #1 at 379yds and #2 at 535yds Hcp 2 follow the river on the LH side so staying to the right is a good choice. The #3 at 350yds has water carry tee shot and water LH side at your 200-250yds narrow landing area to a raised green. The #4 at 400yds is water down the complete LH side on this slight dogleg left layout. Hole's #5 & #6 are both 185yd Par 3's and yes....160yd water carries on both of these raised protected greens. The #8 is a 548yd Par 5 that makes you set up for a water carry 150-170yd 3rd shot to a water front protected green. The green is tipped to hold any shot but going short/long is gone. The #9 is a 380yd Par 4, but hitting your approach shot to a blind green 50' above the fairway adds a element of surprise. Course was in great shape (fairways, traps, greens) and would have loved to play the Back 9 as it has only 2 holes with water coming into play. Enjoyed shooting 39 w/16putts and look forward to returning and playing the complete layout in one afternoon.
